Miniature Zebus are a hardy breed and have a high resistance to disease. Miniature Zebu cows have a strong herd instinct, very family oriented, and seldom stray from each other.

Miniatue Zebu cattle are ideal for small acreage farms and ranches. They need only about a third of the pasture and feed that regular cattle require, enabling their owners to raise three times as many calves each year.

Miniature zebu cattle are much easier on the land, fencing and equipment. They are considerably safer for children (and adults) to be around. They are also easier and safer to confine for inspection and veterinarian care. Expensive heavy-duty equipment is not needed. Here at the Vollmer Ranch we use a 10x12 standard cattle size calving pen to work all of our miniature zebus.
